Some of Our Staff
Staff
We currently employ a well-established staff team, the majority of whom hold an N.V.Q. in Health and Social Care. Our staff are chosen on both the strength of their professionalism, and their disposition to provide a genuinely kind, understanding and positive approach to the care that they provide.

Our staffing comprises an experienced team of carers, full-time chef and chef’s assistant, a domestic cleaning team and maintenance team.
We place a strong emphasis on training, and we ensure that all members of staff are provided with both mandatory and specialist-care training, primarily through Brighton & Hove council’s well-established programme of health and social care training courses.
Residents Love Our Catering

All our menus are based on the needs and preferences of residents, and all residents are encouraged to have input into the home’s menu-planning. The home is more than happy to cater for any specialist dietary or nutritional needs including vegetarian, low-fat, gluten-free, diabetic and specific cultural or religious diets.

Residents may choose to have their meals served in their own rooms, or in the communal space of the dining-room.

Residents are free to request eating at different times if they so wish, and the home will happily support any resident to eat at individually preferred mealtimes.

Teas, coffee and preferred hot drinks are served with biscuits through the day in residents’ rooms, the living room or the dining room, depending on the preference of the resident.

Residents are also free to access snacks and drinks throughout the day.
Accommodation

Our accommodation comprises twenty-six bedrooms of varying sizes and styles, across three floors, twelve of which are en suite. All other bedrooms have bathrooms and toilet facilities within close distance.
Accommodation includes:
●   A clean and comfortable bed and mattress
●  Curtains or blinds
●  A mirror
●  Overhead and bedside lighting
●  Comfortable seating
●  Drawers
●  Wardrobe
●  A bedside table
●  A wash basin (or en suite facilities)
●  Lockable storage space

All rooms have television points and most also have telephone points. For those rooms without telephone points, residents are welcome to have telephone points installed, or alternatively can use the communal house phone.
All rooms are fitted with a nurse-call system so that residents may access support in case of an emergency.

Communal Space

The home provides ample community space for residents with two large living-rooms and a dining-room.

To the rear of the building there is also a sun lounge leading on to a patio garden with table and chairs. In the summer many service users choose to relax and have meals and drinks in the garden.

There are a number of communal bathrooms and toilets throughout the house including a walk-in shower room, three baths and a hoist-assisted bath.

There is a passenger lift to all floors.

At the front of the home is a car park for the use of visitors.
Images from The Grange
We have tried to give you an idea of what life’s like at The Grange from a selection of photographs taken over recent years.

We encourage our guests to participate in our organised activities provided from a selection of entertainers and other professions.

Our home is their home and they can utilise all the communal spaces indoor and outside at their leisure.

For those that are able, the sea front is only a short stroll away. We also provide a wheel chair service for those who want to sample the sea air but are unable to walk there.
